Choosing metallic, gradient and other finishes

Find where the finish appears

A metallic face, a contrasting edge and a lengthwise gradient can give different results after winding. Make a sample in the final orientation to see which surface or edge shows in the design.

Check dimensions before buying more

The finish does not tell you strip width, length or weight. Compare the exact variant with the other paper in your design. Test a join or a tight coil before committing an entire set of repeats.

Will a gradient always show on the outside of the coil?

It depends on which end you start and how much of the strip you wind. Make a sample and note the starting direction.

How can I compare two metallic finishes before using them in a design?

Wind a small coil of each and look at it on the intended backing under the display light.

Can I use gradient strips in matching left and right pieces?

Start both strips from the same color end and check the visible color transition after winding.
